How the products are split
The split follows regulation, not language. Wherever a regulator issues a licence, a separate product exists.
| Product | Regulator | Character |
|---|---|---|
| International | Isle of Man GSC | Deepest pools; used by most Asian players |
| United Kingdom | UK Gambling Commission | Strong consumer protection, strict promotional rules |
| Malta | Malta Gaming Authority | Serves parts of the EU |
| Germany | GGL (German gambling authority) | Constrained by German-specific rules |
| Sweden / Denmark | National regulators | Local tax and limit regimes |
| Ontario | iGaming Ontario / AGCO | Ontario residents only |
| Kahnawake | Kahnawake Gaming Commission | Used in certain markets |

Accounts and balances generally do not transfer between products. Moving from the international product to a local one means withdrawing, closing, and registering again — not migrating. Empty the balance before you start.
Restricted countries
Published lists of European markets outside the international product include:
- Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Czechia, Denmark, France, the Isle of Man, Italy, Moldova, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Ukraine.
Several of those — the UK, Germany, Sweden, Denmark and Italy among them — are served by local products, so it is a change of product rather than an exclusion. Lists shift with the regulatory environment, so treat the registration result as authoritative.
How geographic verification works
It is not just an IP lookup. At least four signals are cross-referenced:
IP location
The base layer, and the only one a VPN can disguise.
Registered address and ID
The country on your KYC documents must match the account.
Payment method origin
Card issuing country, wallet registration country, bank location.
Device and behaviour
Timezone settings, language, and the consistency of your login pattern.
A Taiwanese ID, a European VPN and a Hong Kong e-wallet gives you three signals contradicting each other. That account is close to guaranteed to be frozen at its first withdrawal. Keeping all four signals consistent is by far the easiest path.
Travelling and relocating
Short trips
Non-restricted destinations are normally fine. Restricted ones will block you, which is expected behaviour rather than a fault.
Permanent relocation
Contact support, update your address and resubmit proof of address. Continuing to log in from a new country without updating counts as a mismatch.
Putting this off usually detonates at the next withdrawal.Moving to a country with a local product
You may need to close the international account and register locally. Withdraw the balance first.
Local or international
What works
- International: deepest pools, biggest prize pools, fullest format range
- International: the most complete Chinese-language interface and support
- Local: consumer protection and dispute handling closer to where you live
- Local: clearer tax and legal treatment
What does not
- International: disputes go to the Isle of Man GSC, across timezones
- International: some countries are not accepted at all
- Local: smaller pools, so quiet hours can mean no games
- Local: promotions are usually more conservative under local advertising rules

Frequently asked questions
Why can my friend play when I cannot?
Because you are on different products. The operator runs separate licensed products per market, each with its own wallet, player pool and accepted-country list. “GGPoker” in the UK, Germany and Ontario are three different products.
Which regions are excluded from the international product?
Published lists include Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Czechia, Denmark, France, the Isle of Man, Italy, Moldova, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Ukraine. Several of those are served by local products instead. Lists change — what happens at registration is the real answer.
Can I use a VPN?
Technically it may connect, but it generally breaches the terms. The consequences are a frozen account, cancelled promotions and delayed funds. Geographic verification cross-references your registration country, login location and payment-method origin; a mismatch triggers review.
Can I log in while travelling?
Short trips to non-restricted countries are usually fine. Restricted countries will block you. A permanent move requires telling support and updating your address — continuing to log in from a new country without updating amounts to a mismatch.
Is the local or the international product better?
Local products generally give stronger consumer protection and clearer tax treatment, at the cost of smaller pools and prize pools. The international product offers depth and event variety, with disputes going to the Isle of Man GSC. It is a trade between protection and liquidity.
What do players in Asia use?
Most Asian markets have no local product, so players use the international entry point and the Chinese client. Whether you can register depends on your IP and residency data.
